Hello and welcome to my website.
I'm an Israeli nature photographer concentrating on macro and landscape photography. To me, both these fields are all about the intricacy and beauty of our natural world, and I do my best to show this beauty in my own unique way. Please feel free to explore my portfolio and view nature through my eyes.

In addition to active shooting, I dedicate a large portion of my time to teaching photography and guiding photo workshops worldwide. In the workshop page you can see my upcoming workshops and international tours to Costa Rica and to Iceland.

I hope you enjoy this website and my images. If you do, please share them with your friends.

NEWS
'LAND OF ICE' - SOUTHERN ICELAND WINTER WORKSHOP - JANUARY 16th-23rd 2014
Join professional nature photographer Erez Marom and Icelandic mountaineer and pro photographer Skarphéðinn Þráinsson for the photographic journey of a lifetime.

The first 2014 winter workshop covers some of the most epic locations in Iceland's south coast. We will visit pitch-black volcanic beaches adorned with countless diamond-like glaciers, hidden crystal-blue ice caves, snow-covered volcanoes, gushing waterfalls and colorful lagoons. Exploring the insides of immense glaciers, we'll take a monster-truck ride into the depths of the frozen land and behold the incredible Aurora Borealis.

'WINTER PARADISE' - NORTHERN ICELAND WINTER WORKSHOP - JANUARY 25th - FEBRUARY 1st 2014
Join professional nature photographer Erez Marom and Icelandic mountaineer and pro photographer Skarphéðinn Þráinsson for the photographic journey of a lifetime.
In the second 2014 winter workshop, we'll head to the wilder, less-visited western and northern parts of Iceland, where weather is more stable, chances of witnessing the Aurora are higher, killer whales and seals roam the waters hunting herring, and towering mountains join frozen blue waterfalls to make some of Iceland's most amazing scenery.
'MACRO AND MORE' COSTA RICA WORKSHOP - JULY 2013
Led by professional nature photographer Erez Marom, this instructional workshop takes you to some of the best places in Costa Rica for macro photography. We'll photograph all manner of macro subjects, including poison frogs, tree frogs, insects, mushrooms, and orchids to capture outstanding images of the amazing colors and details contained in the small world of Costa Rica. Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't throw in a bit of bird, wildlife, and landscape photography as well!
On this trip, we'll be covering macro techniques such as shooting with natural light from a tripod, working handheld with natural light and shallow depth of field, combining natural light and fill-flash, flash as main light, multiple-off cameras flashes as both fill and main light, and even the use of flashlights for creative lighting of nocturnal macro subjects. Concepts covered will include depth of field, focus, composition, and lighting for both natural and creative effects.
Article: Winter Photography in Iceland
The Iceland bug had first hit me a couple of years ago. After years of shooting Israel's deserts and beaches, diverse as they are, I felt the urge to experience and shoot something else - something truly alien. when discussing several options with my travel companions, we had quickly reached a conclusion. There is arguably just one spot where landscapes are incredible, prices are reasonable, travel is easy and most importantly: the surrounding is so different to what we were used to, true excitement was practically a sure thing. That place was Iceland.
