Alien Moonrise

As a nature photographer I travel quite a lot and get to see some of the world's most amazing sceneries. Yet there was little to prepare me for this scene, right under my nose at the salty shores of the dead sea in my native Israel. The huge amount of dust in the air prevented me from shooting a proper sunset, but it held a surprise in store: the moon rise turned the already-weird ambiance into a surreal spectacle, and looking back at it I consider this landscape one of the most alien-like I've ever shot.
