Arctic Red
This was perhaps one of the most amazing light shows I’ve seen in the Arctic. We were shooting sunset on an especially clear afternoon in Haukland, but that was just the beginning. A few minutes after the sun had set, a huge white orb began forming in the sky. The orb then gradually turned yellow, then orange, and then everything was glowing bright red. An hour passed and the light was still shining bright. An hour and a half, no sign of going anywhere. Two hours after sunset, there was still a bright red line blazing in the horizon. This image pales in comparison with reality, but it’s my attempt of conveying this awesome spectacle.
