Chronos I: The Darkest Hour
On one of the days on my 2017 ‘Giants of the Andes’ workshop we decided to climb up to Laguna De Los Tres in the afternoon and shoot the moonrise. While I expected good photography, I couldn’t imagine it being such an exhilarating shoot.
It took me a long time to find a composition in low light. Once I had it, I decided to shoot the chronology of the moonrise, from complete darkness to a strong, high moon. This first image shows mount Fitz Roy before any moonlight had hit it. Under a million stars, reflecting in the lagoon, it was an inspiring sight.
