One of only a handful of permanent lava pools in the world, Erta Ale is one of the most mind-boggling sights I’ve ever seen. This huge pit of red-hot flowing lava is nothing short of hypnotizing, and the 3-hour climb in rough terrain and intense heat was well worth it!
