Lunar Vortex

​A blood-red, almost full moon shone the night I entered the Holuhraun eruption site. Unfortunately, it rose in the wrong direction so shooting the moonrise was futile. Nevertheless, an hour or two later the moon shone behind the ash cloud, and made the perfect addition to the amazing ash vortices caused by the eruption.
